The trainer of Biggest Loser Jeetega now trained to Saajid Khan

February 7th, 2008

Anchor-turned-director Saajid Khan is now preparing to appear on the screen as an actor. He is looking very slim and trim these days to get fit into his character.

And that’s not all. He is following the King Khan and, thus, he will soon be seen with his six packs like his friend King Khan. At the same time he is preparing to direct another film, too.

According to Saajid Khan,At first I seek the help from the trainer of “Biggest Loser Jeetega”. He is the man behind the magic of the show. After attending his training I spend the day on balanced diet.

In that way I eat in the whole day just a tandoori chicken, three glasses of protein and six to seven biscuits filled with protein.

I have been living on that diet fro last three months and I would have to live the next six months on the same diet.

I have reduced 19 kgs and I have to reduce my body weight to 71 kgs following all the instructions.

My trainer’s name is Ravi. He is from the T.V. show ‘Biggest Loser Jeetega’ but he charges more money than me (jokes).

Sahara One opened its cards with Biggest Loser Jeetega

January 28th, 2008

The channel has held steady even though it has seen its fair share of rise and fall in GRPs.

When reality ruled Star Plus, Zee TV, SET and Star One, this channel was not behind either. Sahara One opened its cards with Biggest Loser Jeetega. It then unveiled its second big reality property, Jhoom India, which ended its run last week.

Biggest loser Jeetega : Sunil Shetty Planning to start wellness centres for overweight people

December 5th, 2007

Inspired by the success of his reality show “Biggest Loser Jeetega”, actor Suniel Shetty is all set to carry his physical fitness scheme beyond TV and hopes to start wellness centres for overweight people.

“It was a passion to start with. But now when I’ve become so closely associated with the contestants on the show that I feel a constant empathy with them. I’m buying real estate to build wellness centres where overweight people from across the country spend a month, lose weight and go back lighter and happier,” said Suniel.

“Biggest Loser Jeetega”, aired on Sahara One channel, is a show where obese participants are encouraged to shed their extra kilos and the one who loses maximum weight emerges the winner.

Suniel is currently looking at the logistics of buying land in Mumbai. “Real estate is big business. To begin with I want to build a wellness centre in Mumbai with a gym. It isn’t for bodybuilding but for staying healthy. From Mumbai we go elsewhere.”

After the “Biggest Loser…” experience, Suniel is convinced that fitness is far from a fad among the middleclass in India.

“It was so far thought that staying trim was for those who had money. Now after ordinary people have lost an average of 35-40 pounds on the show there’s a new wellness awareness in India. Everywhere I go I am asked, ‘How do I lose my potbelly?’ People are taking the show very seriously,” the macho star said.

Rakhi Sawant & Javed Jaffery visited Biggest Loser House

July 15th, 2007

The contestants had a great week but as usual they had to part with one member at the end of the week. With the Sword of Damocles hanging over them, they started this week by vowing that it will not be their name that will be called out at the vote out session.

After two consecutive defeats, Blue team was all set to win the challenge by putting their heart and soul into it. It was a complete surprise for the contestants to see Bollywood’s firebrand girl Rakhi Sawant and dance maestro Javed Jaffery in the Biggest Loser House. As the duo celebrities were there for the entire week with the contestants, the sizzling Rakhi boosted the morale of Team Red, and a chilled out Javed charmed the team Blue with his wit.

This week the fun task was an impromptu solo dance competition, and the judges were Rakhi and Javed. The contestants got barely an hour to dress and rehearse their performances. Javed and Rakhi bonded instantly with their teams and looked forward to power packed performances and wacky costumes. It was a fierce competition, and all the contestants did their best to impress the dance gurus. Impressed with the jhatkas and matkas, the judges too shake a leg with the contestants.

With Rakhi in the house, can disagreements be far away? Next morning, when the celebrities joined the workout session with the contestants, the headstrong Rakhi had a disagreement with trainer of the Red Team Deepika, which led to a fierce catfight.

This week’s challenge was to transfer heavy to light objects placed on four platforms from one platform to another kept at a distance. The celebrities cheered their respective teams without taking part in this tough challenge.

The surprises didn’t end here! Post the challenge, Javed and Rakhi presented the contestants with gifts from their respective families eliciting emotional reactions.

Then came the ‘Temptation’, set in a dark room lit with candles placed in 200 cupcakes, this week’s temptation gave immunity from elimination to two contestants who found the cup cakes that have lifelines under them. The catch was – any cup cake that is touched has to be eaten completely.

The Blue team lost the weigh in again for the third time in a row and Robin was voted out. After Robin’s elimination blue team went back to its room, red joined them later. But to everybody’s surprise Mr. Shetty called both the teams in the elimination room again. No one had a clue what was going on. Suniel shocked all the contestants by declaring that henceforth there won’t be a blue team or a red team, both the teams are dissolved. He then added that for next week all players will be divided into pairs.

Sunil Shetty doing charity for kids

July 11th, 2007

When it comes to his charity work, there’s nothing that Suniel Shetty likes more than a project that involves helping kids in need.
The actor insists that a person is moulded by the kind of childhood they have had, and that’s the reason why he spends so much time helping kids.

“Children are my life. I had a great childhood. I strongly believe that its childhood that makes a great difference on your entire life,” he said.

And, when it comes to helping other people, Shetty admits that what matters most is the blessings that are given by grateful doctors, children and people in whose life a difference has been made.

“Finally what matters is what we feel inside and the blessings that we get from doctors, children, people, who truly believe that we have made a difference,” he said.

Suniel, who is currently busy hosting the reality TV show ‘Biggest Loser Jeetega’ will soon be seen on the big screen once again when his latest movie ‘Cash’ hits theatres.

He stars alongside Ajay Devgan, Zayed Khan, Ritesh Deshmukh, Shamita Shetty, Dia Mirza and Esha Deol in the Anubhav Sinha directed movie.

Biggest Loser Jeetega is buzzing on the TRPs chart

July 9th, 2007

It’s a known fact that Suniel Shetty had cut himself from all acting assignments for the last 11 months due to his committment for Sahara One’s reality show Biggest Loser Jeetega. But come 16 July and Shetty hits the studio to play his role in Kumar Mangat’s new production 123. About the unusual title, he quips, “There are three Laxmi Narayans in the film.”
“I love the script, it’s an unreal comedy written by those who script the TV show, Naya Office Office. The shooting should be complete by August. I’m looking forward to shooting with my co-stars, Paresh Rawal and Tusshar Kapoor. I love Paresh as an actor. After Shootout at Lokhandwala, I share a great rapport with Tusshar. Though he beat me up in the film,” laughs Shetty.

In its ninth week, Biggest Loser Jeetega is buzzing on the TRPs chart, especially in metros. In the last few months, Shetty had made it clear that he was focusing on the show and keeping all acting offers at bay. Saying that it’s a role reversal ever since he’s taken up anchoring Biggest Loser Jeetega, he adds, “It’s a huge high to be associated with a group of people who are committed to do all that it takes to reduce their weight and lead a healthy lifestyle. I’ve become the comfort zone for all the contestants.”
On being queried as to why Javed Jaffrey and Rakhi Sawant were chosen as the first celebrity guests, he says, “For one, the task this week was dance-based and both are very good dancers. Their presence broke the normal routine. The contestants had a whale of a time interacting and learning from them. I made sure that they get right amount of respect and appreciation since they were our guests after all.”
Shetty says that the show is not a regular reality show. “We have to keep innovating on keeping the interest levels high among the participants and the viewers. It can’t be only about losing weight, the entertainment factor should be there,” he says.
Crediting Sahara One head Seemanto Roy for his involvement Shetty continues, “The channel is going all out to promote the show. The ad revenue coming in the recent weeks has been good. Of late, we have four breaks with some great brands signing on. I’m not particularly fond of seeing many too many ads when a show is on but it signifies the growing popularity of the show.”
Some reports have criticised Shetty for being low profile on the show. How does he react to it? “Honestly, I’m not affected. I had decided that I’d be myself. I’ve received feedback that I’m doing a good job from people who matter to me and that’s all that matters. Had I been aggressive and loud as others, these same critics would have said that I’m copying others.”
In the coming weeks, the contestants are going to form pairs. “So, one can expect more bickering and crying,” Shetty signs off.

Suneel Shetty enjoying his role in Biggest Loser Jeetega

July 9th, 2007

Suneel Shetty seems to be enjoying his role in Biggest Loser Jeetega. Although not keen to be part of the bandwagon on the idiot box, Shetty is enjoying this role that has come his way. “As far as association with the television is concerned I was not so keen. But the idea of Biggest Loser Jeetega inspired me as I am here to inspire many who can work on losing weight even if they are sitting at home and watching this series,” Shetty says. The actor who was speaking recently at a promotion programme of the released film Shoot Out at Lokhandwala, Shetty says the smiles he sees on the faces of the participants after they succeed in shedding some kilos is worth a million dollars.
About Shootout at Lokhandwala, Shetty says, “It is a well made film and I am not saying this just because I am part of it. It is very difficult for a filmmaker to make a film on a real life subject or incident. I am satisfied the way my character of a cop and the film has shaped up,” he says. Today, Indian cinema is totally changed in terms of technology and story telling. “Gone are the days when you had a script with an achcha aadami-bura aadami. Thanks to the writers, directors and technicians who don’t want to be part of run-of-the-mill kind of cinema,” Shetty says. About his diverse roles, from action, romance, comedy to villian, he says, “I am lucky that I could do some good roles and tested new waters. Some of my decisions to working in particular genre were mine, but some were my sheer luck.”
On criticism that he has good physique but lacks in dialogue delivery and that his dance was not upto the mark, “It is always been a constructive criticism. I admit that my dialogue delivery was not so sound. But as I have said that I always sharpened my skills and still doing it. But despite all odds, I had been lucky to be part of some good movies.”
Shetty’s films like Hera Pheri and its sequel, Dhadkan and his role as Raghavan who hates Indian government’s initiative to join hands with Pakistan in the film Main Hoon Na were truely appreciated. “Apart from my work I save myself from being written about in gossip columns as I am not a party animal. I just believe in my work,” he says.

Biggest Loser Drops 148 Pounds!

July 8th, 2007

Wisconsin’s Biggest Loser Competition wrapped up this week at Parker’s Place gym in Oconomowoc. The competition started on January 1, as 16 contestants competed to see who could lose the most weight. The winner was Jim Meyer, who lost 148 pounds, and over 34 percent of his total body weight.

“It’s just amazing to know that you can do it,” Meyer said. He started at 425 pounds, and now weighs 277.

He says his entire life has changed. Now he works out daily, has energy to play with his two young daughters, and his whole family now eats healthier. Even Jim’s wife says her life has done a complete 180 since the competition started.

“Just how much happier everyone is. Just to be able to get outdoors and do things. We’re very excited and much happier,” Jim’s wife Julie Meyer said.

Kathleen Brown came in a very, very close second. She went from 183 pounds to 119. She too, lost over 34 percent of her total body weight, by eating right and exercising daily..

“My kids have discovered that fish isn’t all bad. In fact, they quite like it, and sometimes even prefer it over pizza,” Brown said of the changes in her family’s diet.

The competition even helped Kathleen’s husband Bruce lose 10 pounds. Now that the competition is over, Kathleen says she’ll focus once again on her house.

“It’s never been messier, so I’ve got a lot of work to do. Now I have to do a home makeover,” Kathleen said.

Winner Jim Meyer says he doesn’t know what he’ll do with his estimated $25,000 cash prize, but says he will continue his healthy lifestyle.

“Six months ago, I thought, I can hardly wait for this to end. And now all of the sudden this ends, and it’s not an end, it’s a new beginning,” Meyer said.

Parker’s Place Gym owner Kevin Ellis says his Biggest Loser competition was so successful that he plans to hold another competition next year. He is looking for applicants.

Rakhi sawant gave the tips to contestants

July 7th, 2007

The contestants of Biggest Loser Jeetega have a ball of a time with Rakhi Sawant to entertain them.

When the song Pardesia started playing at the gym on the sets of SaharaOne Television’s Biggest Loser Jeetega , the Red Team contestants had no clue what or who they were in for.
But then they couldn’t help but clap their hands with joy. After all, it’s not everyday that people get a chance to meet Rakhi Sawant! Yes, Bollywood’s favourite item girl spent three days in the Biggest Loser Jeetega house at Amby Valley, boosting the morale of Team Red while funny man Javed Jaffery was with Team Blue to encourage them.

And with motor mouth Rakhi being there, there had to be some dhamaal ! One of the first things Rakhi did was to become involved in the love triangle that seems to be developing between Team Red member Sandeep and Team Blue members Natasha and Ajay.
Recalls Rakhi, “Sandeep likes Natasha but Natasha likes Ajay. When you’re living at such close quarters, such things are bound to happen,” she says.
Rakhi had a good time pulling Sandeep’s leg about the whole matter. “There was a solo dance competition organised for the teams and Sandeep kept looking at Natasha while he was dancing, so I called out to him and said, ‘ Mujhe dekh ke dance kar raha hai ya Natasha ko !’” she laughs.
Known for speaking what’s on her mind, firebrand Rakhi almost ended up having an argument with Team Red trainer Deepika Mehta. Talking about the incident, she says, “The contestants kept on talking to each other while exercising, so I told them to concentrate on what they were doing. I told Deepika that since she’s the trainer, she should be like Hitler. At that, Deepika said that she knows her job.”
Adds Rakhi, “ Hum dono mein thodi si tutu main-main ho gayi but Deepika is a nice girl. She’s just a little too soft on the contestants at times.”
And what about Rakhi? Did she resort to picking up a chhadi to scold them? “ Mujhe chhadi ki zaroorat nahin , meri zabaan hi kaafi hai !” she laughs. Besides boosting the morale of the contestants, Rakhi and Javed gave tips to them regarding the dance competition, helped design their costumes and even shook a leg with them.
And at the end of their visit, they gave them gifts that the contestants’ family members had sent for them. Watch the hot as a mirchi Rakhi Sawant and the humorous Javed Jaffrey on Biggest Loser Jeetega , this week at 8 pm Friday to Sunday only on SaharaOne Television.
